IP Health Corps Africa Ltd was officially registered as a company limited by guarantee without shares by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) in November 2023. As a non-profit public health organization, we are now trading as Public Health Corps Africa (PHCA), committed to advancing health equity and improving community well-being.

At PHCA, we focus on innovative public health interventions, research, and community-driven solutions to address pressing health challenges. Our programs span mental health, non-communicable diseases, health literacy, and access to quality healthcare, ensuring that underserved populations receive the support they need.

Through strategic partnerships, advocacy, and grassroots engagement, we empower communities, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to create sustainable health solutions.   1. Enhance Community Health

    • Deliver targeted health programs addressing hypertension, diabetes, and mental health in 20 districts, directly benefiting 100,000 individuals by 2030.
  2. Promote Health Equity

    • Increase healthcare access for marginalized populations by 50% in rural and underserved areas by 2030, through partnerships with local and regional healthcare providers.
  3. Empower through Education

    • Train 1,000 public health professionals and conduct 300 community health workshops on health literacy by the end of 2030.
  4. Advocate for Mental Health

    • Establish mental health awareness campaigns in all regions of Uganda by 2030, engaging 50,000 participants and forming active support groups in 30 districts, with a focus on men’s mental health.
  5. Foster Strategic Partnerships

    • Forge 30 partnerships with government entities, NGOs, and private stakeholders to expand PHCA’s reach and amplify public health impacts by 2030.
  6. Integrate Technology for Health

    • Develop and implement a robust digital health ecosystem, including mobile and web platforms, to support 100,000 users with access to health education, data, and services by 2030.
  7. Ensure Organizational Sustainability

    • Secure $2 million in funding through grants, partnerships, and income-generating programs by the end of 2030, ensuring long-term sustainability and scalability of PHCA’s initiatives.

Ms. Josephine Namigadde – A Champion for Women and Girls in Africa

Ms. Josephine Namigadde, a member of the board of governors and Executive Assistant of Public Health Corps Africa, is a distinguished advocate for the empowerment of women and girls across Africa, particularly those in vulnerable communities. With a deep understanding of the systemic challenges faced by women, she has dedicated her career to creating equitable opportunities and improving health outcomes for marginalized populations.

Driven by a passion for change, Ms. Namigadde has spearheaded programs that focus on empowering women to take control of their health and well-being. From advocating for accessible healthcare services to championing education and economic empowerment, she has been at the forefront of initiatives that uplift and inspire. Her leadership has resulted in impactful projects that address maternal health, reproductive rights, and gender-based violence, ensuring that women and girls receive the support they need to thrive.

Meet Our Founder- A Master of Public Health

David Serunjogi is the esteemed founder of Public Health Corps Africa, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization. With many years of dedicated service in the field of public health, David has established himself as a leading figure in medical research and public health advocacy.

His time at the Medical Research Council/Uganda Virus Research Institute and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine has laid a strong foundation for his impactful leadership at Public Health Corps Africa. Under his guidance, the organization continues to make significant strides in improving health outcomes and empowering communities across the Country.

In 2024, David Serunjogi served with dedication on the Medical Research Council’s Wellbeing Committee, contributing to advancements in public health and medical research.

Professional Background:

David Serunjogi’s illustrious career began with his extensive work at the Medical Research Council/Uganda Virus Research Institute and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (MRC/UVRI and LSHTM). During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in contributing to groundbreaking research on NCDs contributing significantly to the understanding and management of NCDs in Africa.

His interest in contributing to the control of the growing burden of NCDs in Africa particularly focusing on designing public health interventions aimed at improving the quality of life among infected people, and delaying the new infections of Diabetes and Hypertension in Africa. His current work is focusing on understanding the challenges that come with transforming the available public health information and evidence into practice among people infected with Diabetes and Hypertension in Africa and designing well-tailored interventions. He has trained in 1). Biomedical Laboratory Technology, and 2). Public Health-Health Promotion from the Faculty of Health Sciences at Uganda Martyrs University, 3). Fundamentals of Implementation Science from the University of Washington, 4). Introduction to Hypertension Research, and 5). Fundamentals of Epidemiology and biostatistics for Hypertension Research from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), in collaboration with Initiative to Develop African Research Leaders Leaders, the Pan African Society of Cardiology, the Kenyan Cardiac Society, and Science for Africa Foundation.

Mr. Elvis Nunda Kagiri is a dynamic and dedicated marketer and business development professional with a profound passion for enhancing mental health among men. With years of experience in strategizing and implementing impactful programs, Elvis brings a unique blend of creativity, expertise, and commitment to the Public Health Corps Africa Limited team.

His special interest in men’s mental health stems from a deep understanding of the challenges and stigmas men face in seeking mental health support. Elvis is driven by the mission to create inclusive, supportive environments where men can openly discuss and address their mental health needs.

In his role as Marketing & outreach Director, Elvis is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of innovative health programs, forging strategic partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services. His visionary approach and strategic insights are instrumental in driving the organization’s goals forward, making significant strides in public health and well-being across Africa.
